Marian Anderson: The Concert That Shook the Establishment

In 1939, opera star Marian Anderson was refused her request to perform before an integrated audience. She then chose to perform in the open air at the Lincoln Memorial before thousands.  The concert was aired coast-to-coast over the radio.  University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign vocal artist OLLIE WATTS DAVIS re-creates Anderson's historic performance.

Museum will open at 6:30pm.  Museum journeys and galleries will be open. Concert will begin at 7:30pm.
