Join us to hear a little known, and surprisingly humorous American tale of desperation carried out by bumbling criminals. One of the most bizarre events in American history took place in July of 1876, when counterfeiters attempted to steal the body of our sixteenth president, Abraham Lincoln. This true story occurred eleven years after the death of a person whom some consider to be our greatest U.S. President. Our featured speaker that evening will be North Carolina native Dr. Kevin L. Burke, a Professor at Queens University of Charlotte, North Carolina and a volunteer at Lincoln’s Tomb and Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.
Event begins at 5:30pm in the Library. E-TICKET MUST BE PRESENTED FOR ENTRY (printed or on digital device).
