The Presidents: Noted Historians Rank America's Best and Worst Chief Executives
C-SPAN has worked with some of the nation’s top historians to study America’s presidents and figure out who did the best job. Their work led to a new book, “The Presidents: Noted Historians Rank America’s Best – and Worst – Chief Executives.” Join us when C-SPAN CEO Rob Kennedy discusses this fascinating new book and chats with Illinois State Historian Samuel Wheeler about the rankings, particularly Abraham Lincoln’s position on the list.
Afterward, enjoy some snacks and tour our exhibition of C-SPAN’s Presidential Portraits. The paintings by Chas Fagan are accompanied by photographs and prints from each president’s time in the White House. The exhibit also lets viewers engage with video biographies of every president and audio recordings (dating back to President Theodore Roosevelt) through their smartphones.
The presentation, plus questions and answers, with Kennedy and Wheeler begins at 6 p.m. in the library’s multi-purpose room. The reception and display will be open from 7 - 8 p.m. in the library atrium.
This event is sponsored by C-SPAN. E-TICKET MUST BE PRESENTED FOR ENTRY (printed or on digital device).
