Join us for a Spring Break Camp based on our popular Civil War Tech series that incorporates STEM-based activities. Each day will explore a different theme including Civil War Spies, Life of a Civil War Soldier, and Investigating and Inventing.
March 26 and April 2: Civil War Spies: Spend the morning cracking codes, discovering techniques used by Civil War spies to gather and share information, and chasing after a spy with stolen information.
March 27 and April 3: Life of a Civil War Soldier: Do you have what it takes to be a soldier during the Civil War? Examine life on and off the battlefield for soldiers through the words of the soldiers themselves. Pack your gear and see how soldiers lived, what they ate, how they tried to stay healthy, and what battlefield challenges they faced.
March 28 and April 4: Investigating and Inventing: Discover several inventions created during the Civil War and see if how they affected the outcome of many battles. Discover how one doctor's attempt to cut down on battlefield injuries and deaths resulted in a major advancement in weaponry. Learn how the Union and Confederate armies developed transportation under the water and aerial observation to help with battle on the ground while building your own.
Same 3-day camp, offered twice. Register for individual days or save money and register for the 3-day camp. This camp is recommended for grades 4 - 8.
