Roundtable Discussion on the Retrial of Joseph Smith
Roundtable held in Room 212 of State House.
The Roundtable Discussion will consist of two panel discussions on court protection of individual liberties, particularly religious freedom in the United States. The first panel will discuss the historical context of the Mormon church and the use of habeas corpus in the case of Joseph Smith; the second panel will address the use of habeas corpus in the Guantanamo Bay cases in comparison to other remedies to protect individual remedies in modern times.
